Our Founding Project: 2020-2025

The Niwot Homestead was born in 2020 when founder, Amy Scanes-Wolfe, posted on Nextdoor Niwot looking for land to tend. Property owners Rod Pullman and Barb Greweling enthusiastically responded to the ad. What began as a personal vegetable garden blossomed into a vibrant, 1.4 acre community-tended full diet ecosystem. Between vegetables, fruits, herbs, perennial vegetables, staple crops, fruit trees, pigs, chickens, and ducks, this project became our inspiration for how it is possible to channel the power of community to cultivate a complete, diverse, ecological diet on a small acreage.
